Looking for extra fish additions to my Reefer 170

Due to the amazing coral growth in my system my nutrient levels especially nitrate are down and so I would add some more waste producers 🐠 to up my levels

Current stocking
- 2 clownfish
- 1 Lubbock's wrasse
- 2 pyjamas cardinals

Inverts
- various snails
- Halloween urchin
- Blue legged hermits
- Fire cleaner shrimp

Would love to add some more movement to the tank.
At the moment it is a mixed reef but I am converting it to a SPS dominant tank.

Any good suggestions?

In my rs 170 nem tank I have 3 nems, pair of naked clowns, pair of yellow headed sleeper gobys, file fish, and a flame back angel.
The gobys are everywhere and the angel follows them around all day so lots of movement.

Been looking at a pygmy angel, reef safe with caution right?

Thx for the suggestions never considered a Chalk bass will do some research! Looks like a cool fish
I have one in my ext 170. Nice fish.
I had one in my 18" nanocube but the chalk bass did not like that system I think. Here's what happened. You can see the cube in the pic. It jumped from the nano to the frag tank. I now have lids on all my systems. While feeding the 170 the chalk bass jumped out the feed hole and landed on the net.
So make sure you get a lid, lol.

Already have a lid for the wrasse.
It got scared once while feeding the tank hit the ceiling then the floor. Luckily it had no injuries so I put it back into the tank and it swam straight to it's cave Amazing the strength that fish has to launch itself 😅

Had one in my 120 for a year then jad to.remove it. The flame back has nothing to nip at. One small acro that was on the rock when I put it in.
Yeah scared it will go after my torches or acans 🫣 not sure if I want to take that risk at this time

If you are 34 gallons or so and want to go more heavy on SPS, I'd get a pest eater like a pink streaked wrasse or possum wrasse. You could also do a Springeri damsel or a dragon faced pipefish.

A Springeri damsel also look like a great idea. Definitely have soke flatworms in the tank they come and go. Not sure if my wrasse eats them or their population fluctuates (I do always see more when i add exta pods)

Then you have a somewhat benign type of flatworm that eats pods. A Springeri would help, they are cheap, pretty blue, and the most peaceful damsel there is. It was the first resident in my 32g and thought it was a clownfish when I added my pair. Never harmed anything or chased anything. I've had it almost four years this October and it just got moved to my new 200g setup.

Run a cycle of salifert flatworm exit. I did this on my mixed 15g reef. Follow the directions and your flatworms will disappear.
I had over 100 in this 4 month old system. They came in on the live rock at lfs from a tank breakdown.
It works and is safe. I have ran it on may systems with success.

I might do that indeed at some point if needed Tank is running well so far and they are not a problem just a nuisance, so don't want to do a harsh treatment if it is not necessary.

Yeah I suppose so, there is still a good pod population in my sump so they are also not taking the tank but keeping the flatworm population in check is a good argument to get a damsel!

Best to address it now as they multiply fast.
I have used it many times with succes over the years.
Chemiclean is an antibiotic, erythromycin, not some harsh chemical.

They are in there for already over a year they are not hurting any corals, I occasionaly see some on the glass but they never explode in growth so I am not over concerned they will do any harm. I do keep an eye on them and should the population explode I can go and treat it IMO.

Fish update: I got a Springeri damsel and a small tank bred flameback angel arriving today!

Hope the angel does not turn out to be a coral muncher 🤞
