how come my fish always hide when I sit to view them the Tangs always run back into the rock work which I have alot of big rock for them to do just that but not always..even when feeding them ..the clown has no problem just the tangs purple and blue. Should I take the rock out and make small islands with only one area for them to hide?

it takes a long time for some of them to get used to being seen on your terms not theirs.

its called the king-kong complex. think about it, you have a little fish in a tank stuck there, with you(king-kong) looking in at him..... would you be afraid??? It will just take some time for him to get used to you.

My sailfin hid for almost three weeks. Everytime I walking in the room it would hide. Now it has no problem. Now in the fish only my trigger is hiding. He was always out in the smaller fish only but moved hi to the big one not even a week ago. He stays behind the rock work. Just give them time.

that's classic!

it might just take them time to adjust in their new home. they had all this room in the ocean and they can swim as much and as long as they want with no limits. they get caught, put in bags, and shipped all over. if I had to go through all of that, I would be scared for a while too.
