I have the XL300 and bristletooth tang did not work because of tank size. Needed more room and was stressed from day one so I would avoid tangs in your size tank but some have been successful with it. Other fish are fine but hawkfish will attack inverts like cleaner shrimp if you plan on any of those.

I believe that’s because the XL300 is a 3 feet tank. Bristletooth tang do well in most cases in a minimum of 4ft . No inverts they keep bothering my corals lol

Possibly, yes you would have a better chance with a small tang in a 4 foot. They traverse 150 feet of reef in the ocean as their territory so really any tank is not ideal but depends on other variables also. I have yellow coris, they are great. Check out purple fire fish, indigo dottyback and fangtooth blenny also for added color.
