Flippers reef 125 gallon

Don,

It could be, I've talked with Randy about nitrates having a relationship alk.

He also told me that whether sand was hardened or not, I will hold in phos. and could leach back out.

Like you said, your new substrate could have a higher buffing capacity... :)

Either way:
Your reef looks great... ;Woot ;Woot

I need to test my N03 and P04 then. I haven't in months. Thanks Freddie!

I'm going to test N03 and P04 tomorrow. Fire digitata looks upset. I did a ten gallon water change on the system today.

Since switching to Fritz blue box, the first time I mixed it, I slowly dumped in the salt. Once the water cleared up, the mixing can looked like some white precipitation occurred.

This time, I just dumped it all in at once and allowed it to mix. That was last night. Today, I looked in the can and the water was clear. No precipitation had occured. I guess that's what I'm doing going forward.

I use the fritz rpm blue. I do just under a cup per 2 gallons. I have about 1500gph of flow between 2 power heads in an 18 gal brute. I add about 1 cup every 10/15 minutes and stir the bottom up between adding the cups. Never have an issue.

Yes, more frags.

Don,

Have you fragged your monti?

No, it's still intact. I have a water change to do today and I was planning on removing some more sand before the fridge water leak. Still may get to it.

No, no fragging in near future. But it will be done sometime this year.

Update from earlier today:

Well it's been a intense afternoon! Went to Wally world to get some food and the wife bought a blow up pool for the grandkids. Stepdaughter was using a air pump to blow it up so they can swim and Remi decided to stick her tongue in the air inlet side of the pump and it chopped off a small part of it. Blood flying everywhere!

We rushed her to a 24hr emergency pet hospital with me holding her and blood all over me.

Okay, she's fine. Nothing they could do for her except give us antibiotics and it stopped bleeding. No stitches. She's such a good girl! No whining and now shes playing with Milo like nothing happened.

They are our kids too and man, it had me tearing up the whole time.
