Woooo ;Woot enjoy those alerts ;)

I had a lot of catching up to do. What a ride. The reef is looking incredible!

Thanks Nolan! It's packed with all the good stuff.....reefing, boxer tales, grandkids, coffee....lol

All could never happen without my wife by my side! I love her dearly!

Update: tank has been on auto pilot since recovering from my surgery. Nice having a large enough ATO Reservoir to cover a week and a few days worth.

Water change tomorrow. Decided to blast out the sump to loosen up the detritus. To do this, turn off the return line with a ball valve, doing this the flow returns back into the sump at the skimmer section. Place a sock on the end to catch the detritus.

Once the water clears up, return the flow up to the DT. Simple, yet effective.

I was wondering how soon tank maintenance would resume. Take it easy!

I engineered this system to be as easy as could be maintenance wise. I take it slow and Pace myself. I'll be okay. Thanks guys.

Separated my rock pile in the sump to put in egg crate partitions for a chaetomorpha section. Nitrates still up there close to 40ppm. I dont like bio pellets because they can strip nutrients pretty quickly. So chaeto it is.

Alright, going with chaeto. :)

Don,
Take things slow, so you can recover.

Thanks Freddie, me and the wife, step daughter and granddaughters went to church this morning, had lunch with the chruch members. I'm feeling pretty good overall. Easy as it goes.

The joys of having a large sump lol. Nifty trick for sure. If I could fit that kinda plumbing under my stand I'd have loved to add that in haha

Glad to hear your feeling better and getting around!

Feeling better is one thing, being able to get out of the house and get some fresh air is priceless.

Went salty and after the cycle in went some easy corals

I started out with T5's over this tank. Aquticlife 8 bulb fixture

But got tired of changing bulbs (ATI) and the cost involved, so in October of 2016 I switched over to the Mars Aqua units. Corals responded very well with the LED's.

And as of this month I modded them by replacing some of the diodes to mimic the SB reeflights layout

So that's about it. I've been slowly adding more and more SPS frags. Some acropora, some montipora caps and digitatas.

Fish as of right now:

Tomini tang
Paired ocellaris clownfish
mandarin dragonet goby
yellow coris wrasse
Vermiculite leopard wrasse

I love this hobby! Fins up and happy reefing!

Corals amazing, do you order online for some or LFS?
Thanks for sharing
