Any black box in the 100watt range will do fine.

If you don't feel like raising it 3' above the tank (they tend to use somewhat narrow optics) then just pull the cover off and remove the optics.

reefbreeders is always my number one recommendation if you want to go LED route, I bet the 16 inch would be perfect for that size tank. But also try t5. Personally i would build a canopy and just get two retrofit kits. 250$ t5 fixture right there.

Whats the goal of this frag tank? just excess holding space? Primary growth engine where adding biomass is the primary goal? If it's just excess holding space, put a viparspectra over it. If it's to churn out rapid growth, find a used MH pendant, hang it 15" off the water and stick a 10,000k bulb in it.

The goal of the tank is for me to hold and grow corals till I can get my big display up. So I can grow them and put them in the display and to make sure they are doing good before I put them in there and then told for excess.
