Hi all

Thought it might be time to start a build thread, as the day to getting it wet is getting closer.

I ordered the tank several months back and arrived a month ago.
It’s been sitting around still in its packaging waiting for my builders to finish, they’re currently 6weeks behind.
I’m hoping they’ll be finish on Monday and the decorator will be done by next weekend.

I previously had a 4ft custom tank and stand which I was going to completely sell off all the live stock but was persuaded by wife to try and keep. So I bought a red sea max nano and moved my smaller fish and coral into and put the remaining fish and live rock into a tube with a heater and pump.
Well I lost all the fish in the tub as the builders decided to cover it with a plastic sheet and also turn the electric off without telling me. I lost a few dwarf angels, several wrasse and a few inverts. Completely gutted.

I will try and keep this thread updated as much as possible through my new adventure and hope you will all enjoy the ride with me.

Thank you.
Most of the equipment is looking a bit used as it has been transferred from my old system, but I am adding the odd new piece of equipment like the vertex reactor and a d&d 20w uv filter.

Hey if it still works keep rockin it. My system is centered around a 15 year old Lifereef skimmer and it still runs off of the original Rio 1700 pump it came with.

I will be honest, I am not that into symmetrical aquascapes with equal heights. For some reason though, I love this. Each structure is beautifully unique and quite interesting. Together they just work for me despite my usual preferences. Great job.

Thank you. I didn’t plan for them to be all the same height it just worked out that way

Lighting rig is up, I think this may be the only AI double HMS in the UK, imported for me by AAC and D-D.
I’m waiting to get to my last hydra 26hd, which is currently boarded up in a cupboard by my contractor.

Rock is starting to get brown algae on it. I’m not too worried about that it should disappear soon, natural part of a new tank setup

A few pics of the corals I currently have, I’ll get some better pics once the lights are on

So I tried to sort this mess of cables out

After an hour I ended up with this

I’m going to have to try something different as I can’t live with this mess of cables

The tanks progressing nicely, corals are growing but I’m suffering with lack of colour in some of the sps.
Could be due to lights still on acclimatisation mode, so hopefully in a couple of months I should start seeing a bit more colour.
Started dosing Red Sea foundation A & B and also Colours A, B and D. Let’s see how that goes.
