They are not very new. Probably been in the tank for about 2-3 months now.

What I meant was that they were new to your tank/system 2-3 months ago. Then they were probably subject to light shock when they were moved from where you brought them. If that was during a period of very-low PO4, then that makes the light shock sort of a double-whammy on them.

These effects can be delayed to show up and can take months for them to recover from.

Color me confused....

I did weekly test today and nothing really has changed except for dkH and PO4. My Ca and Mg really do not move at all. I bought the ATI essentials kit with the doser from MD and I cannot justify why, if nothing is using anything, to connect it.

Ca - 450
Mg - 1400
pH - 8.2
Salinity - 1.025
NO3 - 20
dkH - 8.9
PO4 - .117 (turned GFO reactor up a little to bring it down from .215 2 days ago)

I have setup the doser and containers ready to calibrate and install but I just don't know why I should.... HELP?

You gotta try and relax into this! ;) It's definitely okay to do less and go slower when the tank tells you to do less and go slower.

Stick with manual dosing (+ water changes) until there's a demand that dictates a need for the doser. You'll know when that is – no need to rush it.

Keep things as stable as possible and when your corals finish recovering, you'll see plenty of demand. :)

I just see every other post about dosing and what not and think I should be doing it as well. I have only dosed 1 time to boost dkH and Mg a month ago.

I have noticed a LOT of pods all over my rock and I do mean A LOT. Most are about 2-3 mm and some 4-5 mm. They are all over the rocks, like swarms of them. I am surprised the fish don't eat them. And I did finally notice a bristle worm come out at feeding time, 1st one I've seen in this tank. Had TONS in the rescue tank but none of that rock was used. I just threw in one when the cycle started.

I love the long nose hawkfish. Probably my favorite in my tank now. I recently added him. So much fun to watch.

New additions today :-) Got 2 Trachyphyllias. Pic is right after I put them in the tank. They look much fuller now and are touching. Can't wait to see how big they fill out to in my tank.

Got a question for anyone that might know. I want to move the Trachys to this spot.

Hammer is 5" from left and 7" from front 3" from sand. Would they fit here for a while? @DSC reef

I think you'll be fine but temporarily. The trachys can double there size and watch for sweepers from the euphyllias. Find a spot and leave them for a bit so they can acclimate. Nice build and tank, we almost went with a 90 gallon but settled on the 75.

Wish I went shorter as well.... Hard to reach the bottom and I'm 6'2"

My next tank will be something different, not much different footprint as that's all I can have. Scaping a 90 is kind of a pain, not wide enough and too tall. But it's all I can put in the footprint that I have. I have space in my basement for whatever I want but I won't be able to enjoy it on an ongoing basis like where the 90 is.

Added a "new" piece of rock to my aquascape today. I say new but its from my old tank after I let it sun bake for a few months then soaked it in bleach water then ro/di. I let it dry, rinsed it again and the dried it for a week. Should be OK I hope :)

Today's parameters:
pH - 8.0
SG - 1.025
NO3 - 10
Ca - 450
Mg - 1360
PO4 - .343

I took my GFO off line 2 weeks ago as it kept dropping my PO4 too low. Now that it's much higher I'm not sure what to do?

Put it back on or start carbon dosing???

Guess I need some input, anyone? #reefsquad?
