I posted this previously with some crappy photos. I finally got my phone to focus. I will be editing the old one also but I hope this gets some traction. Have had this white fuzz on my rocks and i have a feeling it killed off my hammers and it's moved it's way to my zoas. In fact the only hammer that is remaining, (it still is not doing well but it's condition is far better than the others) is the one that is furthest away from where this stuff is. Please give any advice you have thank you so much

Looks like some sort of sponge. If its irritating the Zoas and you can pull that rock out, you could try a mix of Peroxide/Water to kill it off. Ive use straight 3% peroxide around zoas before for Green hair algae with no issues to the zoa's

I think it is starting to kill them off, i remember that area being covered with them and now it's bare when they are open. That substance was also found under my hammer corals after I just lost them. Picked up the skeleton and that stuff was under it :(((

It looks similar to what i found on this thread:

Their saying either:
tunicates
or
cryptic sponge

Seems a coral dip would work too if you dont have H2O2 'Hydrogen peroxide'

Stupid question but I just lost/are losing my hammers at the same time I have noticed these start to grow. My mind thinks there is a corelation between these and after a quick chatgpt question it says this could happen. Mind you these were on the UNDERSIDE of the hammer, the part that was touching the rockwork, and they were not too close to it's polyps. They also made their way along the rockwork near by...could they have caused the hammers to retract?
