I have had these fuzzy mushrooms in multiple systems now for a few years. They’ve always been very hardy and never had any issues until about two weeks ago they started getting this brown snot on the bottom and falling off the rock. I recently started trying Phos Feed and thought maybe they were irritated from particles settling on the top. Some were as wide as six inches across and I had around 40 in the main display before this started. Seemed to be the ones that lay more horizontal to the earth vs the ones that are growing vertical but could be a coincidence. I had a few flat worms so I did a mostly successful round of Flatworm Exit last week followed by a sizable water change about 30 hours later. When I discovered the first few melting I removed and vacuumed the necrotic tissue pretty quickly. Unfortunately I’m still losing one or two a day. One day they look fine then the next morning one will be retracted and then the melt starts shortly after. Parameters slightly elevated recently and I’ve adjusted dosing accordingly. Nitrates came up after flatworm treatment. Is this a form of brown jelly disease? No other corals seem affected aside from mushrooms. Maybe stressed them when I raised nitrate and phosphate? But other more sensitive corals didn’t seem bothered. Was hoping things would settle but doesn’t seem to be. Some look healthy and expanded. Hate to lose them all. They were covering a lot of the rock work.
