with my phosphates slowly starting to rise, i need to start thinking about getting my GFO reactor up and running.
In years past, I have always used High Capacity GFO. Nowadays, that high capacity GFO has a hefty price tag on it.
I also see the standard GFO, which I've never used. Still a hefty price tag, but a lot cheaper that high capacity

Reading descriptions of both, the only difference I think read, was that you can fit more high capacity GFO into the reactor, but both do the same thing.
Has anyone used both? is there a benefit of one over the other when it comes to results?

i currently have my reactor in place and ready to go...just have to add media and turn it on.

You can use less of the high capacity GFO compared to the standard, it has a higher capacity for removing phosphates.

I have used both. Hi capacity will affect your parameters quickly. Much tougher to finely control. I have stopped using GFO altogether. Started using snails and tangs to control algae. IT seems to have improved coloration.
