I know this saltwater and all but you know what? I’m gonna do this anyways! The scape was just set up 20 minutes ago and I pulled some plants out from my main display. Found some dragonstone downstairs and found a light downstairs.
Stocking so far:
Zeze plant, rotata h. Ra, saggitaria subulata.
Substrate: fluval volcanic soil with grinder up dollar store pots.
Lighting: cheap amazon light. Half decent at best
Tank: again, cheap amazon tank 0.4g.
Plans:
Next for all the open space I plan to add some eleocharis parvula carpets with java moss on the rocks and in one area a staurogyne repens carpet. I’ll be updating on progress every few days as it’s cycling. No plans to stock fish but maybe a few rili shrimp. Glass is dirty as it was dried algae. It will be cleaned.

I keep planted tanks and shrimp myself - living the look of this. In case I missed it what's your plan for top off and are you using tap or rodi?
Tap with declorinator. My plan for top off it hand top offs. Im also dosing excel and iron. Problem Im facing is flow. I need something that can create surface and water movement. I also added Parvula

I had a super small planted shrimp tank a couple years ago and I used an Azoo 60 hob I think it was, provided fair amount of circulation without blowing the shrimp around. I may have missed it but you're not running a sump, correct?

I'll see if I can find a pic with that Azoo..

Beautiful tank! I love natural aquascapes in freshwater tanks. I'm actually planning to set one up soon too
