So, woke up to this! He has not done this since before treatment many months ago. Mouth is slightly open but not gaping or anything. Hes been eating and growing like a champ, not sure if I'm in trouble here or not?
He seem OK to me. Maybe slightly contracted, but not what I would call deflated. Not all the time, but often Gigantea contracted at night. I would make sure the water is optimal. Consider add a spotlight to him. Does not have to be anything expensive. If you can hid it on top of your tank, even a LED 5000+ K screw on light from Home Depo would be fine. I have my tanks in a fish room, wife not allow so I can be as messy as I want.
Gigantea do better with good water movement and super bright light. They are on the tidal flat, exposed to full sunlight at low tide, and will tolerate and thrive with this sort of light. They can make do with lower light sometime, but IMO you cannot, with in reason, give Gigantea too much light. They recover from stress much better with high light.
Good luck with him
Here is one of my spot light. 19W, 5000K light from Home Depo I got on sale a few year ago.
Right now he is about 1/4 of his normal size. He is normally about 10"-12" across and he is about 4" right now. I did see that he was expelling some waste and unfortunately, he has been catching A LOT out of the water column since I have so many fish that I feed pretty heavily. I haven't spot fed him in months, just hope he is not full of rotting food material right now!
