Ive got 2 tanks with nemz, 13.5 fluval evo with a nem i pulled from my 65g. And 4 nems in the 65g which was torn down and rebooted april 16th. Lost 3 nems in the process but got clean sand, rock and glass with a new scape for the loss

I have 3 Forest Fire BTAs in my tank.
For a week they all sat around the same spot isolated away from the other corals and main rockwork.

Woke up this morning and one has gone for a wander across the sand and is now half way up my main rockwork.
Would've crawled past the deshi in there but the deshi doesn't look unhappy, in fact it looked like the deshi was trying to reachout to fight it this morning.

Hopefully it settles itself soon and doesn't upset too much!

Oh no! Have I infiltrated a nem thread with corals?

I thought this was a cup coral:

Well if you look at it, it has a stony base skeleton. Look up hidden cup coral in google. The others may well be also, just a different type/species. Funny thing is when I did a post asking help to ID, I got several responses saying they thought was aiptasia .

Well, it’s 50/50 with me between no it didn’t work and yes it worked as I’ve tried 2 types of anemone and one is thriving.

I have tried a sweet sized pale green and blue tipped BTA before and it died unfortunately. This was 8/13 months back (Probably closer to 9/10) in my 4’ tank and it passed after being in the tank and happy for about 3-5 months.
Wish I had photos of it but I can’t remember which it was in the store as I have about 3/4 photos of BTAs in my LFS to see what looked better.

My current anemone is a mini maxi that is thriving and has been for the past 2 years.

If I ever come across one id love to attempt either a sebae anemone or a condylactis anemone.
I’ve got a neon green condy and I love it sry bout the ugly pic. Looks like a torch coral. If u r close to Indiana the LFS has red/green for $30

I have had a Nem for 2.5 years. Nemo is the OG and has lived thru Velvet and ich wipe outs. Well the Nem has spawned eggs you can see video on here somewhere, has split but is just overwhelming in size 14"
I decided he had to go. Step one take out rock place in sump upside down with foot out of the water wait 30 hours and in the sump he goes. (reactor drips water on rock so foot stays wet)

Nemo is lost.

Nemo stopped eating, Started visiting the cleaner shrimp for therapy sessions and was on suicide watch
(swimming near top of tank contemplating jumping)

So after three days of this I caved and put a rock in sump for Nem to attach too and back in the tank he went.
Nemo made passionate love to his long lost bud and is no longer paying for therapy, with the money he saves he has started eating out again.

RFA's:
easier than most corals
prettier than most corals
more color variety than most corals
don't move and are unaggressive unlike most anemones

Is there any reason not to have them?
RFAs are super cool. They do not have issues and not costly so likely not as popular. I have 10+ of them amd love them.

Did your spawn?

I voted other. They can be kept together, but between movement and splitting, and tank space available, it could become problematic. I keep BTA’s in a dedicated tank and corals in others. I will keep a clam or sand dwelling corals around the rock rock with space away from anemones.

After standing up a dedicated nem tank, this is the only one that I left in the reef. Started as a dime sized walker, hit that hole and has never moved.

I've had a conversation with it and it is put on notice that if it walks out of that hole, It goes in the nem tank. We have an understanding.

I've got a few of those Real Reef Tubinara rocks to grow out some exotic montis on, and one has a big cup at the top. I moved my inferno to it and its been happy there for a while now.

I put my baby Hawaiian Punch's in it too and they took off somewhere towards the back of the tank right away

happy with my RBTA. Its staying put and has split Alread. My clowns on the other hand are dumb and won’t accept the nem as the host

I have a couple of BTAs. They were a single that split 2 years ago. I'd like to get rid of one of them but the wife won't let me. She thinks each clown needs its own nem (we call them their wubbies).

They don't move around, but they take up a lot of real estate and sting anything near them to death. Each of them is about the size of a dinner plate.

The BTA may not be accepting the clowns as BTAs do not host Occelaris or Percula clowns in the wild. To my understanding they will only host Maroons, Clarkiis and some other species in captivity but not the Occ or Percs.
In the background it looks like you’ve got an Occelaris which is why the Nem is most likely not accepting the clown as a guest.
