H2O box 35.1 Marine (1st Tank)

Hey y'all, wanted to share my first tank with the community here! ✌

My name's Andrew, and this is my foray into reefkeeping. Excited to be around such knowledgeable and passionate members!

Cycled the tank with the Microbacter Start XLM.
I carelessly didn't read the instructions and ran live sand and Carib Sea Life Rock and a piece of rubble in the sump with it and left it alone for two weeks, my parameters swung but eventually stabled out to I honestly tested twice during this time.

Temp 77 - 78.5
PH 8
NO3 10
NO2 0
NH3 0
Salinity 35

With a steady of week of testing from 7.15-7.21 I did a water change and I introduced two little clownfish along with one micro nassarius snail and a tiny blue leg on 7.21.2020

My parameters the past few weeks have been steady with NO3 steadily climbing to 20 ppm
Performed the second water change and cut them down to 10 ppm
Might do another one this week.

If anyone has suggestions on a a quiet skimmer that be great!
Thinking of adding a pack of ChemiPure Blue to the sump this week.

Feel free to hit me with any advice I'll try to be better about posting regularly.

Hey I have the same tank also and it is my first! I just got it Wed. Where did you put your return pump at in your sump?? Can you post pics of your sump layout if you dont mind? I am new to everything so trying to figure things out.

Congrats, sump is pretty easy going. My return pump is in the back rear chamber nothing fancy. I do a 5 gallon water change weekly and it basically takes care of itself.

I only have a couple tiny frags mostly lps.

How much space is there between front glass and the overflow, in the display tank?
Which skimmer are you using? Is it a hydor?

In the skimmer section what is the water depth. Be exact if possible. Appreciate it.
