Looking for a bit of information, reassurance, or advice on why my Haddoni anemone might be shrinking like this.
This is one of two Haddoni anemones in the tank.
The other anemone is opening full and happy.
Last week, we lost power for over 30 hours, and I had almost half of my fish die, but have not lost any corals or anemones (yet). The power came back on Tuesday late morning.
The anemone was opening VERY full prior to, and even during, the event. The temperature dropped from 75F to about 65F during the power outage, and I raised it back up to the regular temp over a couple days in an effort not to shock anything further than it already was.
This morning, the anemone was opened fairly large, and it will inflate and look normal for a bit before shrinking and looking quite sad. I offered it a small piece of oyster yesterday when I fed the fish and the other anemone, and it did grab the food. Otherwise, I'm trying to leave it alone. Is it likely that the anemone is just grumpy from the entire ordeal and will recover, maybe expelling waste from stress, or is it something I should be more concerned about? I hate seeing it so deflated :(
