has R2R saved your bacon??

just curious what reef2 reef has done for you. has it saved you from making a serious mistake? maybe helped you set up your system? walked you through a treatment program? or maybe just helps keep you interested in reefing!
i know i heavily depend on it! would be very difficult for me if i didnt have the resources that i can count on this forum!

This site, and especially Randy and his forum, helped me a TON when setting up my nano! It had been 20+ years since I’d messed with anything saltwater. Having a source to ask chemistry questions and get help, was a tremendous resource!

Absolutely. "Meeting" so many friends here has helped a bunch. Although when I read the title, I honestly thought bacon, you meant money. I was going to respond, "No way, it cost me more!" LOL

It is not often that I seek help - not that I know everything, I just tend to work through things on my own and enjoy problem solving. So I don't typically ask questions or start threads, and spend most of my time here attempting to help others and add to the collective knowledge.

So, In that context, the collective knowledge here certainly helps me to learn even if it has not directly "saved my bacon", it has certainly been helpful over the years.

I get help when I need it. There are various levels of Reefers here, and someone usually has the answer to a problem I can’t solve. I’m not a fish guy, so I especially look for help with ailments and problems with them. Also R2R has provided me a home to share my yt vids and write ups, which I hope help others.

Most of my success is due to this forum. Most of that was due to believing live rock was the right way to start.

Clearly I do the work, but this site has made things easier for sure.

@brandon429 and the threads about rip clean transfers just saved me. Had a red sea 250. Got it in its prime growing nice across. Invested in a couple frag packs. Then the dreaded seam split began, so I researched how to transfer w min to no losses. Those threads are amazing fonts of experience. This transfer went well and this morning polyps are out on all my precious acro frags!

R2R definitely keeps me engaged, and the community has a tendency to help me settle down and enjoy rather than micromanage
