has R2R saved your bacon??

R2R pushed me over to buying live rock and live sand when I set up my tank. I did roughly half dry rock/bagged sand and half TBS rock and sand. I haven't had any diatom/cyano/algae problems.

Unscientific/anecdotal but I attribute my success to that. I see other people's tanks with flowing GHA all over their new rocks, or people with dino outbreaks, and I can't help but think that my imported biome is the reason for it.

I don't attribute my success to any sort of outstanding husbandry on my part.

Yes - @Jay Hemdal and all the #fishmedics here saved my fish and my sanity many times! I’m very grateful.

What’s more important — when I wife questioned my addiction and spend, I always referred her to R2R; highlighted that we have 10 THOUSAND+ active addicts like myself, esp those TOTM tank builds and massive systems. "See honey, I’m not that crazy — look at all these guys! ". She would leave me alone for a few months after that…

Me bacon is never in need of saving. But my fishes….. a different story! And R2R have been an awesome place for me since 12/2024 or whenever I joined haha.

Well my Apex has saved my tank while on vacation twice. When I first got my Apex I was furious with it for the amount of money I spent on it. But some folks on R2R calmed me down and helped me get through a couple issues. So I guess in a roundabout way yes R2R has saved my bacon..

I've gotten through tank cycle, ugly phase, and more, in a very short two months thanks to this place! The wealth of information here is staggering. I am four days clean now of a nasty dino x cyano outbreak and my tank is more stable now than it ever was before. It wouldn't be that way without this place. I'd still most likely be tank cycling and trying to figure out where my head was because it would be off my shoulders by now. Getting through so much so quickly is only possible because of all the information i've found here. Special shoutouts to Randy, Jay, PaulB, Brandon, and many more that i'm going to forget to mention!
