What fish got unbanned?

Only Yellow tangs, Kole tangs, Orangespine unicornfish, Potter’s angelfish, Brown surgeonfish, Thompson’s surgeonfish, Black surgeonfish, and Bird wrasse would be allowed to be collected, under the new plan. That means no Bandit angels, no Hawaiian Flame angels, Jordan’s wrasses, Hawaiian Achilles tangs, or many other popular Hawaiian endemics.

Who wouldn’t be excited. Although only a certain amount of permits are being issued- this past action will raise prices drastically and I hate to see the price of Achilles, potters and certain wrasses

I don’t think the price of the yellow tang going down much if any at all. It was always low price because of the availability at the time years ago. Which led to the ban. So I don’t think they will allow over collecting.

If they drop to $50 again I’m going to get 3-4

they are the icing on the cake
I think those days are gone. As Big Smelly Fish said, I don't think the number of fish collected are going to be that much to move the prices significantly. Also there are court challenges which haven't been heard yet.

I don’t think they were over collected from a
Sustainable fishery in a US state. If they were, the ban would nvr b lifted, especially in 2 years. Don’t think that’s alot of time to increase a
Species population. hopeful over time other species will b added or alternated on a
Seasonal basis.

Not for the Hawaiian reefs or the fish that live there.
I am fairly certain that my yellow tangs in my 1100 gallon tank will live a lower stress life for a lot longer than the ones in the wild

Probably because you don’t allow anyone to catch fish in your tank!
;)
