Picked up some strawberry crabs from a local store. They seem quite different. Is this male vs. Female of the species? Or do i gave 2 separate species of crab?

This may be just individual variation in a single species, or two different species of Xanthid crabs. Typically, you have to look to differences in the carapace or claws of crabs to differentiate between sexes.

The #reefsquad may know for sure.

Do they have different number of legs, or the non-spotted one is missing two legs? I am counting 4 pairs for spotted and 3 pairs for non-spotted.

I have seen strawberry crabs without spots, they also seem to have very similar groves on the carapace it self. But stripped leg, and especially 3 pairs of legs (if it is not an injury) is unusual.
