What does manual for your sump recommend?

If you don’t have that, then google the model that you have.

I would put it in the first or second chamber (not with your pump). There doesn’t seem to be enough water covering your pump by the way.

The best is to have 2 heaters for redundancy and a heater controller. So there could be one per chamber.

Maybe in Canada, you need redundancy with heaters. OP in Houston, Tex. Here in Austin, I don’t even use a heater.

As a process engineer, I suggest putting your temperature probe in first chamber in front of heater. In that manner, your temperature probe measures system temperature from the display tank. Also, verify that level in second chamber is above recommended level of heater manufacturer.

I put mine in the middle of three. 1st chamber where you have filter socks is were I put the heater temp sensor so the water from the tank will enter the 1st chamber where the temp sensor is and this is best means to tell me my display is the temp I want it to be.

2nd or 3rd. What’s more important is that you heater control temp sensors is in an upstream chamber. For that reason I would avoid the 1st and use that chamber for the temp probe.
