Hello Fish Keepers,

Not new to the hobby but still green. I Started my new tank in April of this year. I'm running a Reefer 170 with two Clowns and Anthelia Coral for now. This is picture before I added water.

I’m looking at ordering the RSR 170 here soon and just wanted to hear your thoughts on it? It would be my first saltwater tank

I think I’ll be placing the order tonight!! Do you happen to have a link to your build/equipment?
After 5 months, I upgraded to a RSR425XL and only have a build thread on that one. But I took many pictures of the 170 and happy to discuss my setup and answer any questions.

Nice upgrade!
I guess my biggest questions would be what were you running on it for a return pump, skimmer and wave maker?
I really don’t want to go to crazy right off the start with controllers and what not, I don’t need any of that do I?

NYOS 120 skimmer (small footprint but a little finicky to tune). Ectotech MP10 and Vectra S2 return pump for controllability. Look for used equipment at good price. Look for someone leaving hobby or upgrading. Always make sure to ask if person bought new or used, how old, and exact condition of equipment. Need to be patient but good bargains can be found.
