Hello from Washington.....

I like to hold hands and go for long walks on the beach........ooops wrong forum! I have had fish tanks most of my life and got into SW when a friend got relocated and dropped his 60g reef at my house on his way out of town. I learnd and lost a lot in that first year and a half before I got relocated and passed the tank on. About 6 months ago I bought a 3 year established 75g reef and went back into learning mode again and am now planning on a 120g upgrade. You will start seeing lots of questions posted so please help if you can. This has become a family hobby so now there are four of us that can stare dumbly(is that a word?) at the lights. We are learning lots and loving it but want to get more into SPS on our next build. I have been reading on here and a few other boards for over a year and feel slightly smarter than when I started.

Skinz, nice tank! Where in Washington are you located? My process is going to be a little slower than yours as I am going in for double knee replacement surgery on the 24th of February but am planning on having this together around May. I probably will have a million questions before this is done.

Don't feel bad at all for asking questions. Everybody in this hobby was exactly where you are at some point, and we've all learned along the way. There are a lot of people here with great suggestions and knowledge, and a few that don't , haha. Just keep in mind to take it slow and that something that works great for one person maybe not be applicable to you. This hobby is a lot about learning, but mostly experience and finding what works for you.

Mike I live up on the north Olympic Peninsula in Port Angeles, not much up here for fellow reefers or LFS's. Sorry about the need for surgery, but it will give you more planning time in the long run and make for a better setup!

That is funny because I will be working in Port Angeles on the 14th and 15th of this month. I am usually over there 2-4 times a year for work stuff.

LOL small world, when I usually tell people where I live they have no clue where PA is.

What do you do for work?

If you want you can stop up and check out the tank, I have a few frags of some SPS I'll give you too if you are interested. I think I have a Pocillipora and ORA Bird of Paradise in the frag tank that need to find homes.
