Help ASAP Hammer coral

I actually think it’s a sign that the coral is healthy when it can regulate its polyps like that. Skeleton showing can be a sign of stress, however.
In the picture I posted you can see how the coral is retracting it’s polyps but not showing skeleton

It’s showing some skeleton around the edges still but has come back out a little more

I think it's normal. Mine have been HUGE and healthy for a couple months and they retract every night. Here's a pic of them extended next to my nems.

Can't get a retraction pic right now, wife and daughter asleep in there and don't want to wake lol

Is it bad if it completely retracts or is it a normal thing for them to do that? Just curious

Since you just added it today give it a day or so when your lights come back on in the morning it should start to fluff back up

the second picture was taken about 15 minutes after the first. (This is a torch but similar behavior)
Your hammer showing the Skelton like that is a little concerning, however. Keep it in low flow for at least a few weeks and you could try feeding it to help it get some more tissue.

How long has the torch in the first picture been in the tank

The flesh looks good without any noticeable recession just a little retracted at the moment and normal when lights are out

That torch was in there 3 or 4 weeks when that picture was taking. If you look it’s actually expelling waste

Just put it in yesterday, it’s fluffing back up now :))
