I just picked this coral up from LFS. Is this a chalice? Just making sure before I put it in a permanent home. Currently in sandbed.
PAR suggestions?
What is the blue on edges?
Is this the skeleton showing?

I honestly don't know but if I were to guess some kind of favia. But call up your LFS they should know
Some sort of leptoseris, probably a jack-o-lantern.
It does not look like it’s in the best shape right now, leave it for a few days and monitor. I find them pretty hardy in my experience.
Thank you! It is hard like a SPS. It was a trade in at LFS but I did dip it and removed 4 or 5 pests from it. Not sure what they were but i made sure to clean it thoroughly before putting in tank. I didn't get a clear answer on what it was but we were leaning towards SPS due to hard shell.

Any suggestions on lighting and flow?

When in doubt always start at the sand bed with low light and flow, watch it for a few days and see if it gets better or worse from today. If it's worse than move it to med light and med flow. I doubt it's high flow and light but if medium doesn't work you can give that a shot. Also keep it at least 6in from other corals so you don't trigger a war

I am assuming that this image was taken soon after the dipping.
Leptoseris when stressed usually darken in color like that (normal response), should return back to normal soon.
I find them to like medium light and flow, I usually put my new corals near the bottom and monitor for a few days then change their place.

Make sure you keep them in low flow when first introduced, mine started to peel flesh within hours due to stong flow. I moved them to low flow low light and they recovered within the week. If you have a par meter, around 75 par is ideal for leptoseris.
