Thank you! My husband works from home, so I've sent him a message to see how he's doing. I'm just happy he wasn't on the top in the powerhead flow when I went to work this am.

He was a juvenile when we got him. So cool watching him transition.

He was about 1.5” when I bought it .
same as the yellow belly blue tang

they are both comparable in size between 3”-4”

Update on my angel....

Much less time in powerhead / upper 1/3 of the tank today. He's not 100% out of that area, but significantly less time. RR 60-70. Kinda hard to count as he's moving around more. He did get a bit territorial with the other fish this afternoon when I gave him algae. Still eating. Updated photos attached. (I haven't cleaned the sides of the tank to minimize any external stress so please forgive that). The other fish still look and act normal.

Updated labs: pH 8.2 alk 8.5 nitrite 21 ppb, phos 2.5 ppm, nitrate 52.8 ppm (hubby stopped the auto water changes since we medicated the tank).

How long ago did you get him ?
I don’t know if an estimate age could help with transition timing ?

It's been 5 days since I dosed praziquantel. My angel is no longer swimming in the upper 1/3 of the tank or the powerhead area. Although he never stopped eating, he seemed to want to not get into the eating frenzy. Now he seems to mostly be back to his normal behavior pattern - the first one to the algae and coming from across the tank when he sees me. His coloration and spotting have not resolved, but it's at least stable if not a hint better. All the other fish are still healthy. Updated photos attached.

My question is should I redose the praziquantel? My husband started H2O2 dosing, which I know won't help with flukes and flukes are hard to get rid of often requiring multiple medication doses.

Would getting an aqua Biomedics DNA test be helpful? I also thought of dosing some Dr Tims bacterial products.

Typically, multiple prazi treatments are needed as it just stuns adult flukes so that they fall off, it doesn’t kill any larva or eggs. The timing between treatments is tough to know - I use 8 days, but the range is from 4 to 10 days, depending on people’s opinion.

I do not think the Aquabiomics test would be helpful - since you're already treating the fish? Agree with jay with regards to reducing Prazipro - and note that (IME) - some fish have decreased appetite with Prazipro.

So, my husband thinks the angel is spending a little more time in the upper 1/3 of the tank so I redosed the praziquantel (day #7). He looks about the same, not worse and everyone else is ok still thankfully.

My angel died night. I'm gutted. My chromis that I've had for 10 years just died this morning. I didn't see any signs of him being sick. Now my fingers are crossed that the rest live.

If they don't, then I would like to know how to treat the tank to completely sanitize it so we can start anew. I have rock and a few corals (star polyps and such).

That is unexpected!

Did the angel ever stop eating?
Was H2O2 dosing done?
What other fish remain?
Can you post a video?

Yesterday he was more sluggish than normal., but was still eating algae sheets. My hubby has started the H2O2 dosing. Here's a pic of my chromis. My yellow tang now has some rust colored spots on his back, but he's eating. I'll grab a video of him tomorrow when it' light out.

Sorry, can’t really tell much from the dead damsel. Typically, as fish get sicker, they go through a stage of not eating that usually lasts for some period of time. Less than one day indicates an acute problem. Could the peroxide dose have been too high?

I'll ask my husband to double check as he is the one who programmed the dosing. I know for sure it was the 3% H2O2 as I visibly saw that.
