sock for the skimmer? a skimmer doesnt need a sock. your waterlevel seems a bit low, does the tank have a sump (glass box in the cabinet)? otherwise you'd be better off putting the heater in there since your fish cant get burned by it there...

If you had ich and or some other disease in that tank and all fish are gone now, you can't add any new fish for 45 to 76 days.

You will have to ghost feed and can still have inverts in there but you will need to have an ammonia source to maintain your cycle.

yeah that photo is from when i first set it up, i’ll send better photos tomorrow im not at home at the moment! I did add heater to sump, someone told me same thing about fish getting burnt, it’s set at 25 degree in there

I will attach photos tomorrow after i’ve done my water change! I’m deciding to go with NSW. I can’t blame the LFS for everything but i don’t think their water is very good either..

It’s a second hand tank so i’m not sure of exact brand etc for the equipment i have apart from what i brought myself which was only really live sand, some rock, sock for skimmer, and light.
I’ll attach a photo of the tank in general for now, come back tomorrow & reply with the rest! I no longer have the light that’s in photo, i still have one but need a better one like that.

Plenty of research on stock needs to be done on my end 100% as i was under impression Dory my tang would of been ok in this size tank so was lied to again by that stupid LFS store!!
This has been an absolute learning curve for me, i appreciate coming to a forum like this where there’s lots of experienced people to help & advise!

Also if you are going to get Clowns, make sure to order some Ruby Rally Pro, quarantine with it, it will help make brooklynella go away which is a parasitic disease that occurs mainly in clowns but can spread to others. It might have been the thing that killed your clown as it was rapidly breathing and could have also spread to the regal angel. Make sure you find a good LFS that you can trust. Get some more cheaper fish that you can afford to lose incase they do have some really bad disease and qt them. If they are fine that use that store.

I dont know how it works in the UK but how I usually do it is I order fish wholesale through my lfs, then when they arrive I tell the lfs to keep them in the bags and I buy them like that and when I'm home I treat them with a product called Safety-Stop. been solid for me for 4 years now

Yes, if you can find one then they should be able to quarantine for you. I mean the only thing you really need is an extra tank, you could use a 10 gallon just look on facebook marketplace, a heater, a airpump/aerator, and some decoration/pvc that the fish need to swim through.

Do you have a link to safety-shop? Is it on amazon or like common fish online websites? I might have to check it out for a quick QT method as I'm impatient lol.

Oh ok, i understand. Yeah I think just go into his live on friday and ask him about the fish stores. I'm sure he will know of a few.

You just need to add an ammonia source every 3 or 4 days. You don't need any more nitrifying bacteria. Just check you parameters weekly and make sure you have measurable nitrates while your tank is fallow.
