Hi there, it has been approximately 58 days since we added our first live stock in our 5ft, roughly 700l (184gal) tank. This scoly has been in the tank for 54 of those days, and had experienced a huge KH swing (to 5.5) in the 3rd week. It's been hardy for the most part, and eating frozen mysis, and reef roids about 1-2x a week. It has an amazing feeding response and up until yesterday it looked fine.
This morning however, we noticed this white fuzz on it and are confused.
We tried basting it gently but the white fuzz seems attached to it:
As for readings, we are a bit high on CA and MG and have been adjusting dosing down by 1-2ml the past 2 days, while increasing KH to reach an ideal 8
NO3 is at 2, PO4 at 0.
The scoly had some reefroids mixed with AB+ yesterday morning, which didnt seem like an issue in the past.
We added 8 snails and 3 Kuekenthali Shrimps yesterday (to deal with aiptasia on our zoa), and granted one of the snail glided past the meat of the scoly when it was navigating through the scape. Could it have been a reason?
The purpose of this post is to see if this is anything of concern or if we can leave it and let it heal on its own.
Any advice would help!
