Ok I have 120 gallon with a 30 gal sump. I also have a 20 gal on the side... No sump, runs on a regular filter. How would yall suggest to tie them together... Water wise. I want to use it for a frag tank.
Thanks for the help guys

If your main pump is large enough, you can T it to the 20 using ball valves to control the flow, then run a seperate drain from the 20 back to the sump. If your main pump is not that big you can use a second pump in the sump. I would also drill the 20 for both overflow and return.

I would get the 20 drilled for a return line and a drain line. Then you could tee off of your return line as long as your pump is strong enough and use a durso for your drain line.

They have hang on overflow boxes also... Would you recommend that?

I dont trust the hang on over flows, if they loose syphon then you will pump all of your sump into the 20 and over flow. If you loose power the syphon will break and does not restart when power comes back on. Drilling is easy and pretty cheap and almost fail safe.

Awesome. Now where do I drill? do you know of any websites that would give me a good idea or even plans for that

O yeah all this is in a little apartment so room is a problem... I dont have the luxury of having my plumbing going to another room. LOL I cant wait till I move in about 2 years. This is gonna be fun. But Most of the fun is setting this up and figuring things out

You can buy diamond coated hole saws online that are made for cutting glass. They're pretty cheap and then you can drill whereever you want to.
