Need help IDing this. It's growing on a few of my zoas and is killing them. It's very fine and hard to see unless you get very close up. Looks like it has some type of fine fan-like stingers, which can be seen in the last photo.

Any ideas?

Any dips that would help? Not sure I want to dose the entire tank with something at this point.

I took my effected zoas out of the tank, 15 minute to dip, then plucked the hydroids off with tweezers

Unfortunately the hydroids started growing on a colony I grew out from 3 heads to twenty over a year’s time. I lost all but 4 heads trying to wait them out before I got to hydroid killing. Don’t wait long like I did. KILL THEM ALL

Thanks for info. 15 freshwater dip didn't harm them? I'm reading up on it, people say it's pretty stressful on the zoas and to do max 5 min.

Zoas naturally live in an intertidal zone and when the tide goes out, they are left out of water where they can get rained on.

The 5 minute dip won’t do anything to hydroids. DONT dip zoas in ro more than 20 minutes.

You can also try to put super glue over them if you don’t want to dip or can’t take the rock out. Might get rid of them. Might not

Not at all, rodi is pure water and will absorb anything it can, it's actually damaging to living tissue.

Not saying people haven't had success with zoa dipping in rodi, but it's not the same at all.

Do you have any other recommendations for what to dip to kill hydroids?

As for dipping no, but I have heard people have success by smothering tge with epoxy or super glue. Or injecting them with a kalk paste. I wonder if aptasia x would work on them in that case?
