Picked a small neon green tentacle/neon green tip frag of a Torch Coral today at the LFS. The only issue I am having is it's a small head that detached itself from the main Torch colony and the piece isn't attached to anything. Ive been trying to get it to secure itself to a frag plug but it doesn't seem to be working. Can I glue the head to a plug without worry? I just don't think it'd be a good idea to place glue straight to flesh. Any ideas?

haha dood its dieing... i dont think u can do anything meat falling off skeleton? think about it.. u just have to help it heal put it in super low flow or light

I only paid $5 for it but I mean it looks perfectly healthy. I mean the tentacles are out in the water and flowing and it looks just like it would be except not on a stalk. That's why I feel if I can get it to re-attach it'd survive so that's where my q on using glue to re-attach it came up

If the flesh came of the skeleton its called polyp bailout. Chances of it living are slim to none. If there is skeleton left you could clue it or put it where it wont be blown around and it may make it

I think I know what you are talking about, but please correct me if I'm wrong. A branching euphyllia will grow small branches off the sides that start off smaller than a grain of rice. They can be easily broken off even with your hand, which is what I did. They are stony on the bottom with flesh on top, just like the full grown version.

The answer to your question is yes, you can use super glue to glue it down to something. But make sure that you do not come close to the fleshy part of it and keep it in slow flow for a few days until it is locked in there.

I have done this myself.

My very large colony of frogspawn has done this and the polyps have lived and started a new colony. just put it in some rubble in low flow to see what happens.

Ok thanks for the input. Here's an update. Last night I placed the piece of Torch on a frag plug and placed a small plastic soda bottle over it to reduce the risk of it being blown around. This morning I got up and it appears to be doing very well. It moved off the frag plug and appears to of attached itself to the plastic bottle (figures). Right now I am hesitant to move the bottle for fear of it not being completely attached. Further updates later
