Henry C's 90 gal. slice

Cool beans. I've seen way to many people put on LEDs without a PAR meter and fry their corals!

CJ

Okay so here are the par meter results.
with just the blues on:
at the fixture-1800
at the waters surface-800
at the top of my rock stack(13in. from bottom of the tank) 180
at 8in. from the bottom-110
and at the sand-90

now with both lights on:
at the fixture-unreadable (higher than the par meter could read)
at the waters surface-980
at the top of the rock stack-250(13in. from the bottom)
at 8 in from the bottom-150
and at the sand-135

This was done usine a tape measure on the outside of the tank.
The bulb ratio is 3 blues to 1 white
2 fixtures @ 119 watts each
Each fixture read about the same...

I figured I post a few new pics under the leds...:xd:

Thanks for looking and as always comments are welcome!!!!!

Dang it looks like the corals are looking good despite what I also thought was a quick light ramp up. I love how orange/red that monti cap looks! Looking great so far!

Thanks Electrobes, yeah is kinda fast but i'm watching real close to make sure nothing gets burned...
That's a red cap, changes colors when it's not happy...

Looking good. Nice having something that puts out so much light for so little energy, isn't it. Good idea with your encrusting montis, but I'm pretty sure that last pic isn't a red planet.

CJ

the very last pic is a meteor shower chypasteria.. The pic with the coral growing on the overflow is the red planet...
Yeah def. love spending less on the energy bill..LOL...

Wow, I've never seen a Red Planet grow out that much before growing up (or to the side in this case). I wonder if it's because it's on a vertical surface?

I used to have a large colony of it that had grown onto the overflow...
