I understand your position. Group pressure is a powerful force.Gotta be honest, I feel the guilt. I keep wondering what the downside could be... and it seems like there must be one or people would just do this instead of waiting forever for the tank to get passed the uglies.
I've read that tolerances can be built up to the stuff so it's not a long term solution to balancing the tank... but at least this stuff feels like guard rails keeping things pointed in the right direction.
