Hi, my name is Doug and I have been in the SW hobby for 26 years. My introduction to fishkeeping was 60 years ago, my Aunt Gloria, brought a goldfish for me and older brother George. Over time I advanced to live-bearers then Chiclids, African Chiclids and now Saltwater fish and Inverts. I am a physician and still in practice.
I have a 90 gallon Reef tank and 180 gallon FOWLR tank. The tanks were broken-down 1 1/2 years ago due to major home remodeling. My wife got her high end kitchen
and I was allowed to make a hallway closet a "wet room" for RO-DI and SW mixing as well as 2 new Set-ups
. The new tanks are about 1 year now. I lost all my corals and majority of my fish during the 6 month re-model project.
New FOWLR fish are Queen Angel, Flame Angel, Yellow tang, Hippo Tang, Mata Tang, Flame Hawk, Melanarus Wrasse, Dwarf Blue Spot Puffer, numerous Hermit crabs and Snowflake Eel. The Eel was only survivor from old FOWLR.
New Reef has no coral due to severe hair algae and Aptasia outbreak 4 months ago. FINALLY under control. Current live stock are 2 Ocellaris Clownfish, juvenile Kleins Butterfly, juvenile Purple Tang (possible transfer to FOWLR), Scribbled Rabbitfish, Cherry Wrasse, Royal Gramma, Banded Watchman Goby, 2 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp, numerous Turbo and Nassarius Snails. The Goby and Gramma are the only survivors from the old reef. Plan is to resume Ca++ and trace element dosing and trail of SPF corals since I have not attempted them in the past. I will look in controller system for better management as finances allow.
I will try to post more as time allows.
