hi im new here and just trying to start out in the hobby, still in the market for my first tank. any advice will be highly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Since you asked...I think a safe sweet starting point is between 60-100 gallons. Big enough to do 'nearly' everything you might desire, but not so big as to be overwhelming or over-expensive right out the gate.

Research anything and everything you can. If you experience it the way my wife and I did, you'll feel overwhelmed at first with the amount of information out there, but with repetition, you'll keep hearing the same concept and the familiarity with it will make you more comfortable. My wife and I literally watched EVERY BRS video, and so many more. We took notes (more for a sense of calmness and quick reference).

We started however too small. 24gallons, and quickly outgrew it once we realized what we wanted to do with the tank.

Anyway, don't let me drone on. WELCOME. This community is AWESOME. Everyone except like maybe 2 people out of thousands are TOTALLY nice and helpful (jk on the 2 people). ;)
