Hiding your skimmer hose. How do?

Venting my skimmer air inlet outside. That said, its going to be on the side of the house thats visible. So I dont want it looking terrible. I was thinking of mounting a electrical box, and somehow putting a bug screen over the bottom knockout and just putting a blank cover on it, but idk how exactly I'd get a screen in the doesnt obstruct airflow. What did all you reefers do?

Maybe use a box and remove all of the knock outs and line the inside of the box with screen, that should allow enough flow I would think?
If you get a plastic box you could cut a big opening in the bottom no one would see and cover it with screen.
Just throwing ideas out. I don't have to worry about many of the small things. I live in the woods so no one sees my house

Luckily I live in the woods as well so I dont have to worry TOO much, but theres a judgmental in law situation so momma requires it look half way neat lol. My only worry is mud wasps or other bugs getting into it. I bet I could get a double gang box and leave both bottom knockouts unplugged and glue a screen over it well enough that it'll keep stuff out. Could probably put a little filter floss, carbon or something of the like in if I felt the need as well.

Get a Project box, with mounting ears. Drill holes in it and stuff it with Filter Floss.

A screen is not needed as any bugs will just find themselves trapped in the water from pump so technically sealed off by a trap. You will want to add a 90 for rain because that will pull through to skimmer.

Good possibility bugs will crawl into the tube and restrict it especially when winter comes. I had to blow out the hose on my pressure washer yesterday. Also mud daubers love stuff like electrical boxes, at least here in Ohio that's how it goes.

Thats kind of what my worry was. I have a lot of them around me here and I can see tuning my skimmer becoming a issue if I have bug induced variable airflow to deal with

Once painted house color it’s not noticeable. If you think so then put a dryer vent cage over it. Or like me behind the bushes

I’ll just add that I’ve had great success with these styles of strainers in other applications, they would work well here too!

This moves the strainer inline, likely inside the house where it can be easily serviced!

Tubing strainer, inlet strainer, suction hose strainer, etc…

Or, in-line strainer, pre-filter, in-line screen, etc!

There are some nice mushroom shaped woven stainless steel mesh strainers for airless paint sprayers that I like using on freshwater pump inlets, too!

Thats definitely an idea! Wonder if I could rig it up so the strainers inside a box with a blank cover. This might be the route to go!

Hopefully you’ll have similar results! I gained .4 to .5! Had my doubts but it definitely works. I have 5 people in the house plus a dog. Also basement sump with a gas water heater and furnace so that probably doesn’t help either. I’m sitting at 8.1-8.2 now

I have 3 people, 2 dogs, basement sump, with a boiler downstairs. LOTS surface exchange down stairs but my ph ranges from 7.85ish to 8.1. If I open the basement door for the day I can hit 8.25ish so I really hope that this is the fix! Ideally I'd get a air exchanger but ya know... $$$

I use a pool noodle in the window, but it’s on the side of the house.

For the screen I picked this up at dollar store cut it to size and flattened it. Hot glue in the inside bottom knockout....
