I've got this snail looking thing it's kinda hard to see here. But it's black with white spots on its back but it almost doesn't even look like a shell on the back. Well it is blowing smoke looking stuff into the water as I'm typing? Anyone know what this is? Is it good or bad?

Google Elephant slug Scutus sp.?

I think it looks like a stomatella maybe. I did some quick googling and that's what it looks like and found another thread where one was doing the same think spitting smoke like that. I freaked out for a minute when I saw that thinking it could poison the tank or something. Lol. Haven't read up on them yet so don't know if good or bad? I just wanted to try to get some info ASAP while I had an eye on the thing so I could pull it out if it was bad. Lol. Thanks for the reply!

In case it's not obvious I'm a major newbie. 4 weeks into first tank.

Score good snail;)

Stomatella good hitch hiker, will reproduce in the tank -the smoke was probably sperm...- algae eater

Thank you for the help! Found a pic that looks exactly like it and definitely looks like stomatella.
