How bad does coral ruin your day when it is not doing well? (receding, not puffed up, dying, etc.) :sad:

Depends on how much money it cost, and if I fragged a piece for safe keeping, lol, but I think it ruins a lot of people's days. :(

Nothing worse than a last ditch effort to save a coral that you know is a hopeless attempt. I've actually called out of work before when a single coral was suffering from RTN just so I could be there for it's final hours. The coral losses are tough, but not nearly as bad as losing a fish. People look at me like I'm crazy when I get worked up over a lost fish, unable to relate seeing as they're dog/cat people. Although it isn't as tough as it would to be to lose my dog, I'm still pretty depressed for a few days after losing a fish.

I'm kinda down in the dumps lately about m corals browning out. I finally think I've solved the issue but you know...takes forever for SPS to recover their color so I'm sitting there every day saying "cooooommmmmeee ON...COLOR UP ALREADY!!" I was practically chanting it yesterday.

Very depressing, especially after doing everything to try to save it. Sometimes I'll even lose sleep over a piece, especially if it's an expensive one or in one of my growouts :(

More so day is ruined when I screw up which causes coral deaths or receeding... Been there done that and feels like crap...

But I also know how "on the edge" many systems are and I have mine protected as well as I can at the moment so there is a little reassurance that I did everything I could. Also 75% of my corals have insurance frags out there so if I lose something I can get it back.

In the end though to make the day brighter all I need to do is get a hug from my daughters and all is well. This is true whether the day is going bad from work, tank, finances, etc. Kids make everything brighten up.
