How do you get rid of algae for good?

What's your best tips for getting rid of algae?

What tangs are acceptable as babies in smaller tanks? I was almost convinced to try a quarter sized blue tang until it got a bit bigger, then trading it in if I didn’t have a bigger tank going yet, but opted against that cause I’m afraid of the tang police.

I think most healthy tanks will always have some algae that comes and goes throughout the tanks life,imo.
