How do you get such clear shots of fish?

I have a Canon Rebel XT with a macro lens. F-11 works well for corals and plants but the shutter speed is too slow to get clear pics of fish. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

i have only had luck once with taking picture of my fish, while i dotn remember the settings i do know that i always use a tripod and step back so the fish arent responding to me so much

Fast shutter speed. Make sure the eye is in focus.

external flash, and high speed flash sync.

this gives you a flash, and shutter speed of 1/250+ which is much fast than 1/60 that you can get with on camera flash.

Fast shutter speed, put your camera in shutter speed priority mode. No need to use a tripod with a fast shutter speed.
