Currently have a decent sized cucumber in my 32.5 gallon tank. Ngl he did not look this big in the tank at the store, and honestly wished the store told me so. So far he is fine and i think he will be for a ling while but how long until i have to re-home due to size. He is eating well and everything and food is not a worry of mine for him. Thanks.

We'll need some more info in order to help you out. Can you tell us the dimensions of your tank, and the species in question, please? Pics would also be helpful.

I guess your right its mostly on me for not asking.
Don't beat yourself up over it. You took the initiative in creating this thread because you recognized the problem and want to make it right. That's being a pretty solid aquarist, IMO.

It may eventually split. You can then donate the other half back to the store or a fellow hobbyist.

if it doesn't, trade it for a smaller specimen.

I currently have 3 in our 270, two are the size of a hot dog and one is tiny. The tiny one was less than an inch when I got him. I saw him once a month at best. He is now maybe 2 inches long and easier to find but is only active when it gets dim.
