When selecting lights, how do you decide on what wattage is necessary? A lot of videos i have seen using 150 watt lights have to adjust them down to only 30% output. Wouldn't it be better to use 100 watt lights instead?
I am looking to light a standard 75 gallon tank.

Depends on depth of tank, corals, lens on the leds etc… tons of variables with that question… most of the higher wattage lights have better spread..

Would it be ok to mix? Have a 100 watt on one side and a 150 on the other to create a more desirable spot for a coral to choose from?
