In a 36X 18 footprint what is the minimum area I should supply with 2 inches of sand for sleeping? Just a small area?

Is 2 inches of sand height enough?

Are you just putting sand in a small area in an otherwise barebottom tank?

No, but only want to put 2-3 inches in a small area, but enough where the halichoerus is comfortable

Enough to cover his body is all that is needed, both for depth and coverage.
