If I see something visibly altering flow (or hear it more likely), I’ll clean it. Otherwise, never.

I usually wait until its a problem and then take drastic measures to fix it! When it is too bad you can lower the tank water level and use some vinegar to help remove it. Just use it on a damp rag and be careful not to get in in the tank. I use nylon bristle heavy duty "toothbrush" form harbor freight. They are a bit bigger and longer bristles than toothbrushes for our mouths.

Rarely except one tank that has GSP on the back wall. I have to peel the GSP back every 2-3 weeks.

I like the look so I don't mind.

I literally spent an hour last weekend, “debriding” my teeth with cítric acid. Luckily, I did not glue my dentures in place and I can remove them for easier maintenance

I clean mine about once a month. I usually notice that the ATO has gone down significantly over a day or two and the cause, "clean the teeth"

Gah! I hate this! Coraline algae seems to love my weir and it feels like i have to clean it every three days. I use a toothbrush as well as a scraper.

Oh and i hate cleaning my return pump!

I hated cleaning the overflow teeth and did it when I noticed the water level rising in the display or always before going out of town. I hated cleaning the return pump too and never did it til I took my former tank down. I fixed both problems by using a canister pump on my current tank.

With my recent increased light schedule I will probably cover by back euro-brace with black sheet to prevent the light hitting "my teeth"

It's removable and I soak it in vinegar for a couple of hours. Quick scrub with a toothbrush and it's back in the tank.
