I 2nd a Bristle worm. Could have came on the rock, I have a few of them in my tank as well. Have you ever looked at your tank a little after lights off with a flash light?
Yes, but not closely. I will try tonight!

That’s an actual fire worm.
Either a bearded fireworm or orange fire worm.
Eurythoe complanata
Worms don’t feel pain like we do, pick your poison. Thanks for letting me know. I never put him back in. What’s the most humane way to dispose of him?

Eh. They’re not that bad.I’d get that out. Very difficult to identify different species as they are morphologically so similar but once they get over 4-5” your likely dealing with Hermodice Carunculata which is a problem that can get well over 10” in length and is a mid level marine predator. Unfortunately they can reproduce rapidly asexually so where there is one big one there is likely a hundred small ones. Hitchhikers like these are why I always start with dry rock.
Definitely a fire worm. Not Fire Woman but fire worm.
Lol I thought I uploaded. Sorry!

That’s why I said it’s a scary worm LOLThey aren't "harmless". I touched one accidentally and it took almost a year for my finger to quit blistering. They annoy corals and proliferate to no end. They are great detritus cleaners
It looks like you also have bryopsis...I would be more worried about that than the worms.
