I was bored today and I’m tired of of my crappy water. Upgraded the RODI setup now with only 5 TDS to the DI from 14, have to clean up the wires and am currently burning off the membranes, Water here is terrible so screw you chloramines. Now making 7.7 gallons an hour with lower TDS, after the membranes make water for a bit the TDS may even drop a bit more to DI.

No I do not recommend spending this amount of money or effort on an RODI setup. Don’t be stupid like me

That's quite a setup.
How bad is your water supply to need that elaborate of a Rodi unit?

357 TDS and a regular smell of ammonia from what I guess is high levels of chloramine. Our neighborhood is on the end of the water line and they are always over here flushing it out. There was an article a couple years back on how bad our drinking water is, we also have a ring of red stain in our toilets if not cleaned weekly

What’s your recipe? Blender?
Store bought fresh- Shrimp, scallops, squid, oysters or clams (sometimes both), what ever white fish is available

Bought prepared- PE mysis, selcon, coral feast, oyster feast, green seaweed

I rough chop it, put it in a bowl with some RODI, then in a food processor, bag it, freeze it, then chop it up and place cubes in jello cups that I feed daily. I keep the nutrient input pretty consistent that way.

concerning the seafood it’s whatever I can find fresh, recipe is never really the same other than the prepared items

You are lucky

A huge cost of ownership for me is I replace all filters and membranes every three months now other than the chloramine monsters. Interesting enough the water test great but still have a higher than normal amount of silicates. Tank has never been better than now, so it could be stability in lighting, following monthly triton test, or the large investment done in October on the RODI system. Who knows

I would not recommend this setup to anybody but I sleep better at night, and the TDS proves some overkill works. These are pets and family members to us, we want to be able to provide the best opportunity for them to live and thrive

A couple crappy photos from today, tank has really been getting in a groove and growth has taken off over the last few weeks. Added another 6 ml a day over the past 2 weeks to compensate-

Picked up a IM Helio 700 watt heater setup, will be replacing dual BRS 300 watt titanium’s. Also grabbed another DOS, that way I’ll use 2 of them for triton other, 1 for booster and evo, and 1 for water change. I can just use the 5 liter jugs now and not have to mix and can match doses for all 4 additives. Hoping to also get my Triton ICP back today since I have been consistently dosing iodine and manganese

Well, the heater is going back, no idea why @Innovative Marine would build heaters for large tanks and provide a 56" cord. Will not reach from the control cabinet to the mid chamber. Total disappointment

Edit: @Innovative Marine reached out to supply a longer cord, hopefully it works out!

Update-

replacing awc setup in garage to larger tanks, been waiting 5 weeks for them to show up so in the mean time I prepped out what I could including running new lines. Some of this is temped in until I transfer the fmm and all that jazz once the tanks get here. I went with a reef octopus varios 4 for the recirculating pump.
