I can keeep acros any acro i add they do fine polyps out and happy i have ssc electric miyagi etc but whenever i add a tenuis from the day i add them they dont extend their polyps.. i add them mid level in the tank. Give them flow. My alk at one point was at 10 but i have lowered it to 8 over a. Period of time and added a new tenuis.. on first day the polyps seemed to be out but after the lights cane on at their peak the polyps closed up and since been closed.
Parameters are where they should be for acros. Any idea? Could it be maybe they getting too much par and thats shocking them? Should i lower them

Ok,
Should be a standard template when opening discussion regarding issues, claiming all parameters are acro ready, really says nothing. I don't want to come off the wrong way, and mean to help, just too vague. So, reply back with some answers to basics, so all can assist. Thanks :)
1. How old is reef setup, "ocean" or "dry" rock?
2. System size
3. Lighting type, PAR if available, manufacturer?
4. How many fish, feeding, etc
5. Actual parameters including nutrients?
6. Type of filtration? Skimmer? Refugium? Filtration Media? Carbon/bacteria dosing?

Tenuis need higher levels of available nutrients than most acropora ime. That does not mean that you should try raising your levels, but maybe add some more fish or feed meaty foods more often. Also, as stated above they do not do well with KH swings (in general) there are some Tenuis that are hardier than the rest.

Much easier to drill down on issues. Hopefully someone with similar lighting will chime in, as everything else seems fine. Bioload seems well, as lemonade suggested, increase feeding, and maybe some frozen in the mix. Maybe that will stimulate PE.

Polyp retraction within 24 hours seems odd. Sounds like you might be over dipping them or getting some bad Tenuis. I don’t disagree with the other suggestions. I have a 50g cube with over 60 Tenuis and haven’t lost a new one in years. I’ve lost a couple here and there many months later but not within a week after receiving it. I do feed a lot more, 3-4 frozen cubes per day, and my no3/po4 fluctuate 10-30/0.10-0.30. My alk is all over the place.

Yourself and a few below have mentioned feeding meaty foods... believe it or not this is the ONLY thing i DONT do.. i feed exclusively flakes and pellets. Maybe this has something to do with it

maybe it's not you and it's the tenius. Are all from same source? Are u buying them healed, encrusted? Fresh cut?

Ive tried them freshly cut (which isnt a great idea) ive got them encursted over frag plus same thing... this will be my 4th tenuis its a rainblow blue one i think. I really really want to keep this one alive..

What dip are you using? How fast do they die?

i did go to my LFS whi keeps tenuis Alive but i dont see great polyps extension in there tanks. Owner asked what my alk was at when ive tried 2 tenuis prior and i told him currently it was at 10.2 he said lower the alk to 8 so i did slowly and now its stable ive added the 4th yenuis to see if its something to do woth that.. i dont feed frozen foods just flakes maybe i should feed more frozen see if that helps. I lowered the frag rack about 3 inches and today the polyps are little bit out compared to yesterday

the first 2 frags died after about 3 months which were freshly imported and cut not healed when my alk was around 8 then the third died within a 2 weeks which was encrusted over frag plug when i got it and at that point my alk was at 10.2 stable. I use two little fishies dip
