Hello I just got two new corals my first ever. I was paranoid about my mushroom but now I’m wondering about my hammer corral. The skeletal structure seems to be shedding or something but the polyps seem happy and extending. Is it safe to say if the skeletal membrane on bottom was bad the corral polyps wouldn’t be fully extended because it’s dying ? Or can you have fully extending top looking healthy and bad membrane dying? Here is a picture

I would say that those polyps aren’t fully extended. I’m no veteran here but that hammer looks puckered to me.
Can you post your parameters and history of the tank? Also, what kind of lights, placement and how did you acclimate? Also when did you get this? This should help determining if something is going on in your water

So it seems to be looking more normal. That was towards the lights out and I didn’t know silly me I’m noob that the corral starts to close at night. My parameters are
1.026
9.5 dkh
500 calc
1480 mg
Nitrite zero
Nitrate 2.5
Nh4 0
Ph unknown dang test kit doesn’t work for ph ordered a digital reader
I have Ai hydra 32 on a 20 gallon tank at 50 percent power
I did a dip in corral rx solution for recommended time and then rinsed in fresh salt water and places into my tank.
-tank was started April 10th so it is officially a month old.

here are pics of the corral now I think much better? No skeleton is exposing. I moved it to my sand bed on a rock it was 3 inches from sand bed and I also put it in a less flow. i think I’m learning :) some advice would be appreciated.

also is this a good corral dip? It says natural and contains no Iodine. Should I be using iodine ?
