I'll respond to all comments. I take everyones opinions and options seriously and in consideration. I do the research. I use a marineland internal filter rated for an 80 gallon tank I'm pretty sure. And i use the jebao wavemaker. Along with the octo classic 100 skimmer. I've been ready for the expenses and knowing how much things will cost. I know that this is an expensive hobby. But I'll buy the important expensive stuff especislly if its almost "mandatory" but if I can just stay in a low budget then i will. I've had saltwater tanks for about 3-4 years. I just started off small and I thought it was soooo much easier. This is my second time at having a 55 gallon. My last one, the tank was damaged and I had to repair it when i got it, but it just made me super anxious because I was renting an apartment at the time. Now I'm in a basement if less space in a sense but more opportunity to do things the right away.
How do you like the OCTO ? I have heard nothing but good about that model. I have one internal to the sump on my 90 ( 10 K in so far and no coral yet after at least 3 years

That's why I want like good lights. I work 11 hour days. So im not home to adjust it accordingly. I just want it to do it it's self basically
Cant wrap my head around needing a remote. Maybe like my Aqua nests. When I shut things down for maintenance have to use the app on my phone to start them up Again. Is that why? The razor I have on my 40 looses all settings if I power it down or outage. Real pain because hardly ever happens, and I cant remember how to set it again from scratch. Try not to read the manual. Its a guy thing, and also how my little head learns and remembers. My Aqua nests do not because settings in the app on the phone

You are not reading what I said . Please read this all the way through. I suggested it BEFORE
Let's not make this personal. My appeal was to everyone here (the whole community) and in general how we should try to help anybody like her looking for help as a new member of the hobby.

Thanks!

Not sure where your coming from but in post 56 she states that she has had saltwater tanks for 3 or 4 years. Hardly a beginner.

I saw that but she " updates " things " as we go along which is ok by me. When I first started in the thread I thought she was green as well. However I have been in the hobby as well as terrariums and outdoor ponds all my life almost I'm 70 and still have just scratched the surface in salt water

SAME. Like, I had it easy with my 13.5 fluval. But when I tried other size tanks, Like a bow front 30 gallon and I had a diamond like 55 gallon tank (it wasn't in great shape, had a leak once, fixed, and it made me nervous still) it was just hard to maintain and keep up with them and live in an apartment. So now i have like better funds in a sense so im tryna get it done right

I would still consider myself a beginner. There is soooooo much to learn. I literally read something new or see some type of fish I've never seen before every day. I'm a beginner in the sense because the small tank was easier and this is more of a challenge for me.

Honestly I'm very unorganized. Literally with everything in my life. I'm all over the place. LOL. #ADHD

I honestly just put it together yesterday, turned it on, and realized that I have no organic matter in my tank yet so It just kept FILLING with water. So I just have to get a fish in there

We are all beginners I think. I have a huge problem with algae I cannot figure out at the moment. Always something new. Had a hang off the back grow system for cheato. I forgot about it it had its own little pump. IT grew nicely but the waste it created started going into my display. Almost lost all my coral. Luckily I do things one at a time and wait. So after some head scratching I saved my tank. One stupid mistake

If it kept filling with water I hope you don't mean that literally. If you do you may have to adjust the air. I don't know how yours works but mine has a neck, and the bubbles only should come up halfway
