I been buying from a LFS since ive set up my tank.this is my second time and i am still sorta new I have bought my pair of clowns. (One died) 4 days in to having, a naso tang (died) 1 week into having and now recently i got a new lawnmower blennie and he also died 3 days into having. I try to support this place the best i can cause thats what i like to do. Every time one of my fish died I’ve taken my water to their store to have them test. Never any signs of poor water quality,
yesterday after my blenny died I asked him what can be the problem. He asked me what i mop my floors with.and do i cook inside. I told him a small bit of Pine-Sol maybe once or twice a week and yes on cooking he immediately guarantees me that’s why my fish are dying, as i look around his store prior to this talk i seen this. He is putting the blame on me and telling me i need to buy this filter. Now im no expert but that sounds like some bs. Is it me or my lfs ? !!!! I also have 3 other fish that i bought from a different store not so close that are doing great!

Hate to tell you but your LFS sucks. There are very few anymore that can actually give sound advice let alone stock healthy fish. At least in my experience. I don't buy any fish locally anymore and very few inverts or corals.

Sorry for poor grammar also at work and just had to get this off my chest

If other fish are doing well I doubt it’s a chemical issue from cleaning, but it could happen. We all cook though so definitely not a problem. Carbon could help if any contaminates but I would shop elsewhere since it’s been an issue several times now. Sorry to hear about your fish . Hopefully they didn’t introduce any disease to affect your other livestock but sounds like they are healthy. Good luck
